iTunes Store Top Music Retailer in the US

4月3日、米国Apple本社のプレスリリースによりiTunes Storeが米国最大のミュージックストアとなったことが発表されました。

サービス開始から5年弱ですが、iTunes Storeは世界に5000万人を越える顧客、40億曲の販売、600万曲以上のカタログを保有するに至っています。

On April 3,Apple, Inc announcedthat the iTunes Store surpassed Wal-Mart to become the number one music retailer in the US.

 

This announcement is based on data from market research firm the NPD Group’s MusicWatch survey that captures consumer reported past week unit purchases and counts one CD representing 12 tracks, excluding wireless transactions. The iTunes Store became the largest music retailer in the US based on the amount of music sold during January and February 2008.
